Girls Are Taking Over The World

Ayla tends to have a huge influence on what happens within the Rosas household.  I'm guessing it's for many reasons, but mainly because she's the oldest child and the bossiest.
On Wednesdays I take advantage of Tio Elton's day off and would usually try to go to Sprouts kidless.  One particular Wednesday when I left them in Elton's care I came home to Ahrian without pants, Ayla's shoes and socks on.  He was quite proud of his attire! I'm not sure what was worse, Ahrian's choice of outfit or the fact that Tio Elton helped him put it on.
Even though Ahrian gets roped into many girl play, he is still all boy and loves to build and put things together.
Ayla on the other hand, she's all girl!!!
Even baby Greyson gets roped into playing with Ayla's dolls.

Ahrian has been obsessed with putting things down his shirt/onesie.  I find some very interesting things when it comes time to change his diaper or get ready for bed. Ayla is of great help and goes right along with it many times.

Tio Elton's Barber Shop

Somehow Elton convinced me that he could cut Ahrian's hair.  I was quite the nervous wreck and eventually left the kitchen only to come back and take the occasional picture.  I have always been emotionally attached to my little man's curls and that is why I've usually kept it longer.  However, since Elton's wedding was coming up it was time to get it cut.  He couldn't look like the child of Napoleon Dynomite and Pedro at the wedding.
Oh my, momma is sure going to miss those curls!
No longer my baby, but a handsome little boy!
Curls or no curls, he still melts my heart!

Dia de Los Tres Reyes Magos

Milton and I decided that we would like to continue his childhood family tradition of the Dia de Los Tres Reyes Magos (Three Kings' Day). We do not celebrate Santa since we would like to keep the focus on Jesus Christmas Day and then the 3 Wisemen on January 6th.
On the night of January 5th we had the kids leave out a pair of their shoes.  We told them that the 3
Wisemen would be bringing them gifts like they did for our Savoir when he was born.
That morning they woke up to a great surprise.  A Step 2 Cho Cho Wagon, pjs, bowling set, shoes and a medical set (Milton and I saved the gifts we had purchased for Christmas.  The kids didn't go without Christmas Eve and had plenty from family and friends).  I always love seeing Ayla's face since she is so expressive!

The older Kusko gets the more restless he is at night.  I think he is definitely starting to feel the aches of his old bones and gets up to rearrange himself and his bed many times a night.  Which usually ends him in the middle of the living room each morning.  So, he was happy to be in the midst of all the excitement.
They kept jumping from one caboose to the next.
Later that evening when we had dinner with Milton's siblings where we celebrated the day by eating a Rosca (Mexican Sweetbread that is in the shape of a wreath). Inside the Rosca is several plastic baby Jesus'.  For those who get a Jesus in their slice of Rosca they have to by tamales, which will be eaten at a later family gathering.
It was a good start to traditions that we look forward to continuing and passing on to our children.
